Getting there...

So, I found my camera! Saaaweet...but lost the camera cord.

...We're getting there...

Pictures to come soon. I'm gonna borrow my dad's camera cord today and upload like a crazy lady!

P.S. Big plans coming up for V-day. I have some cute ideas, but haven't had time this week to prepare any of them yet. And I have so many ideas that i can't narrow them down to just a few for my {Valentine}. It'll be interesting to see how it all turns out. Stay tuned....

I'm in love...

Jamison has a few days off this week, so he took me to work this morning and I casually suggested he stop by for lunch so we could be together. Later on he texted me to see what time to stop by for lunch, and I brushed it off and told him not to come.

But to my surprise he came anyway, and made me SO happy! I love being with my boy, and I was so happy to see him walk in the door of my office. He even dressed up all nice JUST. FOR. ME. I don't deserve this boy. I really really don't.

A trip to taco bell, and a few minutes filled with angry birds made my day. AND he decided to stick around the rest of the day since I go to lunch later in the day, that way once I'm done we can head on home.

What else can I say??? I'm in love.......

I can't believe it!

I have NEVER won anything in my life.

NEVER.

And because of this I rarely enter contests because . . . well why do it if I'm always going to lose? right??? Well, I felt like giving it a shot the other day, and boy was it worth it.

I found a contest going on facebook with Pianoguys. The contest was to win either an apple iPod or iPad. First of all, I had no idea what either were to tell you the truth. But I did know that a lot of friends really enjoy theirs so I said to myself, "Hey self! Why not try it for kicks!" So once I stopped being a nerd talking to myself, I entered the contest and invited friends.

The drawing was held on December 20th, and low and behold....here's what they said,

"The Winner of the Apple iPod is... "Amy Fernelius Pruitt" CONGRATULATIONS!!!

email paul@thepianoguys.com to claim it, and include the best number to call you."

I was SHOCKED! I didn't believe it. I had won an apple iPod! What was the next thing I did you ask? I went online, hopped on over to google, and searched for a good little while about what the apple iPod touch was really all about. Yeah I know, I am SO cool right?

So I received the iPod on the 23rd and have really enjoyed it since! My family enjoys doodling on it, and even the Jay man likes playing angry birds on it, which is so cute to watch! Anywho....long post made longer....it was such a neat gift, and I'm grateful to have it.

The pianoguys do contests often on facebook so take a look over there, who knows? You might be a first time winner too. ;) Did I mention they work with Jon Schmidt and have given away free tickets to see him perform?? mmmhmmmm..... :)

I'm lame

Please excuse my horrible horrible self as I have not yet posted pictures. Life has been hectic and every once in a while I get a chance to breathe. At home I'll walk at top speeds to do everything I need and as I pass the camera in it's little drawer, I think about grabbing it and taking it with me to work - where i have internet to upload and post the pictures - and then the thought is gone as my mind continues on in the necessities of the day.

The pictures WILL go up. I may just have to do it all in a picture overload post once Jamison gets out of school this week.

My apologizes.

Don't give up on me.
Thanks,
Amy

Mr. Sun

I know this guy, he's pretty formal and goes by Mr. Sun to most...I just call him sunny poo...cause we're that close. You know how people often tell you that's it's nice to get to know someone, but not to get to know them too well because problems in the relationship may occur???
I am witness to that statement. I know Mr. Sun too well, and I would really appreciate it if he'd dim up our relationship a bit, just until next summer of course. Don't get me wrong...I love Mr. Sunny poo....but I'm ready to become reacquainted with rain and breeze and the weather that fall and winter bring.
It can be really hard to break up a good relationship though...hmm....maybe I'll write him a letter...yeah, that'll smooth things over.

Dear Mr. Sun,
Thanks for the fun times. The bbq's. the swimming sessions and flipflop weather. the popsicles and watermelon. thanks for the good times. thanks for the laughs and family get togethers. It was fun, but now it's time to move on for a while; part ways. I hope you'll understand. I really do. Please don't take it personally, you've known for some time now that I feel this way around this time every year. And I hope to catch up with you once more next May. Until then I leave you.
Amy

......Seriously though....it's too hot. Please get cooler soon!!! I want to be in Utah sooo bad to see the leaves changing colors. Who wants to come?!? I'll buy you some licorice. :)

Baby

My brother-in-law and his wife are currently in the hospital counting the minutes and seconds until they become parents to a precious baby girl. I have NEVER been in this boat before. Jamison has about 25 nieces and nephews, but I am the only one married so far amongst my siblings, so I have not been in these shoes, waiting anxiously to hear how Irene is doing, and how little Sally is doing. healthy? Easy delivery?
It's actually quite exciting, and I'm all giddy waiting to hear how they're doing. It makes me wonder and ponder, and plan and dream........and just, think.
Now I can't wait to go up and visit sometime soon and see our newest little niece! She will be loved. I already love her. I really do.

how fun.

Monday Morning Misc.

Wishing it was not Monday....really really wishing. Mondays are the days that I am Jamison-deprived from 8am to 10:30pm. My least favorite thing.
I have discovered that my absolute favorite days are now Saturday and Sunday. I know that's how it is for most people, but I really didn't have a preference...until now.
Moving on...pumpkin pie milkshakes are yum! My new project will be cake pops. That'll happen later this week I'm thinking.
I am READY for Thanksgiving. I'm ready to be with family for a whole weekend, and this year will be very different! I have spent every Thanksgiving with my family for 19 years, and now for my 20th I will spend Thanksgiving day with Jamison's parents, and then the weekend with my family (mostly because J has to work Friday so we can't stay in St. George for longer than a day.)
Craving Pride and Prejudice.
I want to go back to sleep.
....this is going to be one. long. week. ...

Tis the Season

...to make EVERYTHING Pumpkin!!!

Two days ago it was Pumpkin muffins which I somehow didn't get a picture of, but was way yummy. Today it will be Pumpkin Pie Milkshake. Oh holy goodness.....my mouth waters just looking at this picture.

Here's the recipe from ourbestbites.com Make some, you know you want to! :)

PUMPKIN PIE MILKSHAKE:

Pumpkin Pie Milkshake
Recipe by Our Best Bites

1/3 C pumpkin, canned or homemade
1/4 - 1/2 C milk
1/4 t vanilla1/2 t cinnamon
1/16 t cloves (just use a 1/8 t measure and fill it half way, or do a pinch)
1/16 t nutmeg
2 T brown sugar
2 C vanilla ice cream
1-2 graham crackers

Pop everything but graham crackers in a blender. Start with 1/4 C milk and then slowly add more if needed to make the blender process it all. I used somewhere between 1/4-1/2 C.

A note about blenders: Here's the problem with making thick, diner style milkshakes at home: A lot of times you have to add so much milk to the thing to get the blender to process that it turns into a milk-slushie instead. Or you have to blend and plunge, blend and plunge, etc. You know the drill, right? So if you have any trouble with your blender, I would recommend blending everything but the ice cream first and then mashing it into the ice cream by hand (well, with a hand. Holding a fork or spoon :) If your scooped ice cream sits out at room temp while you measure the other things and get them all ready, then by the time you mash it all together it should be a good consistency.

Sprinkle with crushed graham cracker crumbs before serving. It reminds me of DQ's Pumkin Pie Blizzard!

Top Ten Tuesday

1. Struggling to get all our thank you cards out. I want to personalize them all, and because of that it's taking a LONG time. Please bear with me, I'm getting them done, and we really are so very grateful for everyones love and kindness.
2. I'm bruised, broken, and bleeding. I've turned into a clutz since the wedding. The other day I scraped my arm with my fingernail and bled for what seemed like hours. Then yesterday I fell on a bridge and scraped up my knee with managing to bruise my arm. FUN! mmhmm..
3. Beauty and the Beast on DVD coming out today, makes for a happy Amy.
4. We finally hung up a picture and our clock. The plan is the hang up the rest of our photos once I decide where I'd like them placed. Hopefully this Saturday! The apt. is starting to feel like home.
5. More friends should start blogging. I miss so many of my HS friends who are now still on missions or off at college. Time to start those blogs!
6. Homemade hamburgers are on the menu for this week, with a side of fried potatoes and salad. Yum!
7. I'm a lotion freak.
8. I had a friend once, his name was sleep. Now he's lost and I'm desperately trying to find him. If anyone finds him please contact me immediately!
9. A lot of my friends are pregnant. It gets me thinking, I am old enough to have children. And not only am I old enough, but I am officially capable of it. I am married, sealed for eternity to my sweetheart, and at any time we can have a baby if we wanted to. Crazy. It's a little overwhelming just thinking about it. I don't feel old enough/mature enough/wise enough to have a baby. We'll see how times change and my attitude changes once I actually AM pregnant.
10. Is it 6pm yet? Or better yet: is it Friday yet?

Coconuts.

This weekend was lovely!

With Jamison in school we oftentimes go our separate ways in the morning to work, and then after he goes to school, and we don't see each other until 10:30ish at night. By that time we are both soooo done that we get home and go straight to sleep.

Well, Friday I had decided that it was time to take a "time for us" date. So, after we both got off of work and he got some studying done (aka: nap) we went out to the Suncoast Buffet...yum! It was so stinking good. And we were both super hungry, so it was so wonderful.

After we took a skip and a hop on over to buy tickets to watch the {Legend of the Guardians} in 3D(as it was opening night) and we had found out that we were the very first to buy the tickets for the movie-which we found to be SO weird, but hey! A whole movie theater to ourselves...I wasn't going to complain! It has happened once before when we saw "How to Train Your Dragon".

I really didn't like a lot of the messages in the movie, but the scenery was beautiful and captivating. Not really one that I would be super anxious to see again though. While we were waiting for the time to get closer Jamison said, "I want to show you something!" So he led me over to the escalators and we then boarded the elevator, and made our way to the rooftop. We then spent a few precious moments looking out over Las Vegas at the shimmering lights. It was breathtaking.

We spent a moment there just collecting our thoughts and being at peace, and then made our way back down to watch the movie that Jamison had been waiting anxiously for for a while.

We made our way home after-what we felt was-a much needed break from work/school/and everyday worries. What a wonderful day!

Saturday:

We had made plans to go to the temple, set up our tv, set up the vacuum we recently purchased, and hang up all our pictures that are STILL leaning up against the wall waiting to be hung. That would be a long day in itself, and to top it off Jamison had plans to study long and hard for an exam on Tuesday. FUN!

Well......instead!!!!!!!!! We woke up to a phone call from Jamison's mom asking us to meet her and Kent-her husband-at Hallie's soccer game (Hallie is Jamison's niece). Of course we were excited to go! But I couldn't help but think: "Well, maybe next week we'll get the pictures hung!" haha. No chance of that now. So we went and had a great time with his parents, and brother Ben and his family. We spent quite a number of hours with them touring their new home, and having fun. Then before parting ways, we had lunch with Jamison's mom and Kent at Capriotti's. That was fun too...I miss not seeing them all the time! So it was nice to catch up for a few hours. We spent a lot longer than we should have, so we went straight home and Jamison studied for hours! Nothing else was done-too bad-we were really looking forward to our Saturday temple attendance. Hopefully sometime this week we'll make it, or Saturday sometime around General Conference. *Crossing fingers!*

And yesterday was such a wonderful Sunday, as are all Sundays when Primary kids are involved! It can be very tiring, and very stressful...but that's where I LOVE to be. And I'm so grateful for the calling. :) Our goal for the day was to really focus and keep the sabbath holy, so we watched church videos when coming home, etc. Throughout every day I've got some weird song stuck in my head...and Sunday was NO different...all day I sang (with Jamison's help of course) , "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts...." Sounds weird and lame, but it's actually quite fun and amusing to try your hardest to sing poorly, and find that you really didn't need to try that hard at all!

FUN FUN weekend! I can't wait til General Conference this weekend! YAY! :)

Oops...

Well I've already ruined Top Ten Tuesdays...great! It's Wednesday again..hmm, hopefully I'll get the hang of this.

1. Life is good, life is great, life is wonderful!!
2. I LOVE planners. One of the best things invented.
3. We are currently house hunting. We are in our apt. until wecan find a home (thanks to my dad for helping us out in it all...love him). It might sound weird, but what I really want to do is park a tent in my family's backyard and call it home. I JUST might do that!
4. I'm dying to hang our pictures on the wall. Somehow we find time to do so much, but there never seems to be time left over to do it. My goal is to have them all up by next week...but as that was my goal 2 weeks ago, well, let's just say I don't have high hopes.
5. Had an Elder's Quorum bbq last Saturday for families. It was fun. Good food. Fun company. Cute kids. Overall loads of fun.
6. I LOVE Saturdays. That's the one day in every week that I get to see my boy ALL day because there's no school/no work. AND to top that off, Saturdays have become (since the very week we were married) our Temple day. I hate NOT being able to go. I missed last week with other things going on, so needless to say, I'm VERY excited about this Saturday.

7. Found a new cute recipe to making slime and cool silly putty here...and want to try it for my primary kids. Now, how to incorporate it into a lesson???
8. I. LOVE. FALL. I can't wait to go home and make pumpkin muffins!!!
9. Grandpa's Birthday today! LOVE you Grandpa! Happy Birthday!
10. I crave Cafe Rio every day it seems. Today just happens to be a day that I am NOT. It feels weird. HOWEVER, instead I am craving Baja Fresh. Do the cravings never end? I am so not excited to see how bad I am when pregnant with a precious little one. Oh well, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

OR....
hmmm......

Missing him...

[These days have been a little hard on me.]

Jamison's been working 2 jobs that have taken up the grand majority of his time and energy. Therefore, I hardly ever see him...and when I do, he's absolutely exhausted.

Today, for instance...he worked from 8am to 12am (as in midnight) and then came over for a quick bite...and ate half asleep. Then left to sleep, just to wake up early the next morning and start anew.

It brings me much gratitude to see how hard he works...all for our little family that will very soon be united. How do you show someone, who does so much for you...who loves you with everything he has.......how do you show him how much you care? And how grateful you are?

I've been working as well at Kayenta Therapy Center as a receptionist, and truly enjoy being there. The BIG plus is that the days are flexible. If I need a day off at the last minute, I can usually take it off. Also, during school time, I am able to do homework and my studies during down time, whereas at previous jobs I've held that was not even an option. So it's a big blessing to have the job that I do, and to be able to work with such friendly and wonderful people...particularly Grandpa and Cherrie!!! Such a fun job! :)

In general, though life gets packed with things to do, and you find that there never seems time to get it all done..........Jamison and I are grateful for our jobs, and for the time we get to spend together. :)

Random Question:

How in the WORLD do I fix the playlist so it's not so big at the bottom??? Anybody know? Otherwise I'm just going to get rid of it.
Thanks bunches!!!
