we usually like to have fun around here when it comes to holidays.  we go all out.  this easter sunday was no exception.  we had the yummiest meal made by my mama, cupcakes by yours truly, with one made without grass {shredded coconut} for my sweet benjamin. :)

some of the family were fast asleep by this point, but those that joined in had fun nonetheless.  i love any excuse for a family gathering.  we had lots and lot of fun!  i'm already planning the next holiday when we can do this again.

around mid-january i found a cute deal online to make some Valentines day decor.  i've been wanting to have a fun craft night with Tiff and Ash, and I thought this would be a fun activity for us to do, so i got enough for each of us to have our own set.  the girls came over the first weekend of february and we had a great time playing with Emma and painting.  we had way too much fun and spent around 4 hours just having a great time. hopefully we start doing this more often.  miss them.

I am not one that can be surprised easily. I knew when Jamison was coming down from St. George to propose last April. I knew when he was coming down to "surprise" me with the ring a few weeks later. I knew about a huge date night he was planning and tried ever so hard to act surprised...but he knew I knew. I always know what's going on. Which is why last night's {surprise} was absolutely amazing to me!

I did not expect it in the slightest! Jamison hung out with me all day at my work, and just stayed in a spare office doing homework. At lunch he took me to Sweet Tomatoes, which is always a YUM! And we came back to the office and got back to work - me with my office work, J-man with school.

During quiet periods of my day I went in to see how he was doing, and talk and spend time with my best friend.

This is how the day went.

At 5:45ish we started to pack all our stuff up, clean up the office, get things ready for the following day, and walked out to the car. As we were walking Jamison was telling me about a conversation he had just had with his brother on the phone about how J-man was a horrible baby.

Great.

So now I will have a whoppin 10 pounder and a trouble child...all thanks to my main squeeze. Needless to say Jamison and I are hoping our babies take from my side in that area....JUST in that area, and take everything else from their daddy-good looks, amazing personality, loving nature, hardworking, etc. I wasn't a "great" baby, but I was better than most of what J-man was telling me of his past...and I was 7 pounds-ish, so I would REALLY like that!

Anyway...back to where I was. We were talking about Jamison's baby troubles, and not really paying any heed to what we were doing, just throwing our bags in the car, and then I walked up to the passenger seat, opened the door and had a smile from ear to ear as I rested my eyes on this big ball of cuddle. And I saw this little guy right next to him...clutching a beautiful white rose.

I was in HEAVEN. And Jamison had won. I told him he'd never be able to surprise me, so to see his face was priceless. We dropped whatever we had been saying at the moment, and we both just took it in...I had been defeated...and I was TOTALLY okay with that!

We immediately decided to call the big guy Snowy...and don't have a name for the little one.

I was so excited, he kept telling me it was the best to see my face.

Once we got in the car he drove us down to Olive Garden for dinner and, once we saw how packed it was, quickly changed our plans and went to Viva Mercado's for a wonderful Mexican dinner. After sharing a tostada, burrito, and flauta...and topped it off with fried ice cream (yummmmm) and went to our nice warm home to watch a movie.

Oh what a wonderful day it was. Jamison was my first Valentine (besides my daddy of course [love you daddy!!]) and I'm so grateful to have him for my only Valentine forevermore.

Here's to many more years of love with my one and only, sweet Jamison Parker Pruitt.

I took advantage of taking pictures of my bears this morning and took a couple quick pictures...the first is of our cute living room (I'm such a slacker, the Christmas decorations are still up. I LOVE our itty bitty tree that Grandpa gave us)

Birthday boy!

January 27th was J-boy's big 22nd birthday! For his first birthday being married I wanted to take him to the Lion King show at Mandalay Bay. I was listening to the radio at work one day this last December and heard about a saaaweet deal for a 2 for 1 price and couldn't pass it up! So I got the tickets for the Saturday after his birthday.

Try as I might, he is JUST like my dad in that he can guess what he's given without even being given a hint of any kind. I wanted to make it a surprise....but if he really is like my father, that will NEVER happen. Oh well, I'm accepting it.

We had SUCH a fun time! Jamison and I both love disney movies, and we were both SO captured by the songs, the actors, everything! And we were in the perfect spot too. It was oh so much fun! I'm a nerd though, and forgot to take pictures, though we carried the camera around with us! Oh well, I'm more of a, "live in the moment" type girl anyway.

Life is good. Time is short. Work is tedious.

C'est la vie!

I'm in love...

Jamison has a few days off this week, so he took me to work this morning and I casually suggested he stop by for lunch so we could be together. Later on he texted me to see what time to stop by for lunch, and I brushed it off and told him not to come.

But to my surprise he came anyway, and made me SO happy! I love being with my boy, and I was so happy to see him walk in the door of my office. He even dressed up all nice JUST. FOR. ME. I don't deserve this boy. I really really don't.

A trip to taco bell, and a few minutes filled with angry birds made my day. AND he decided to stick around the rest of the day since I go to lunch later in the day, that way once I'm done we can head on home.

What else can I say??? I'm in love.......

I can't believe it!

I have NEVER won anything in my life.

NEVER.

And because of this I rarely enter contests because . . . well why do it if I'm always going to lose? right??? Well, I felt like giving it a shot the other day, and boy was it worth it.

I found a contest going on facebook with Pianoguys. The contest was to win either an apple iPod or iPad. First of all, I had no idea what either were to tell you the truth. But I did know that a lot of friends really enjoy theirs so I said to myself, "Hey self! Why not try it for kicks!" So once I stopped being a nerd talking to myself, I entered the contest and invited friends.

The drawing was held on December 20th, and low and behold....here's what they said,

I was SHOCKED! I didn't believe it. I had won an apple iPod! What was the next thing I did you ask? I went online, hopped on over to google, and searched for a good little while about what the apple iPod touch was really all about. Yeah I know, I am SO cool right?

So I received the iPod on the 23rd and have really enjoyed it since! My family enjoys doodling on it, and even the Jay man likes playing angry birds on it, which is so cute to watch! Anywho....long post made longer....it was such a neat gift, and I'm grateful to have it.

The pianoguys do contests often on facebook so take a look over there, who knows? You might be a first time winner too. ;) Did I mention they work with Jon Schmidt and have given away free tickets to see him perform?? mmmhmmmm..... :)

It really isn't about being lazy...

I SOOOO look forward to the day I can be a stay at home wife/mother. But not so I don't have to go to work, I actually really enjoy my job; but so I can better care for my sweet husband. I wish that I could be better now at the laundry, cooking, cleaning, AND having fun, but I am so lacking in every area. I work every day from 9am-6pm, but we leave the house at 7ish so Jamison gets to work on time, and I get dropped off at my parents so I can get a ride to work a little later. Jamison usually gets off of work a couple of hours before me, but is often caught up with paperwork to do, yardwork at our house, or other "manly" things...and by the time I'm off work he's either starving or has already made himself something quick to eat. So I very rarely cook dinner for the two of us, and usually just make up something quick or we stop and eat with the family before heading home....sad. I love spending time with my family, but I would love having dinner ready and waiting on the table for when the love of my life gets home from a hard day's work.

To top it off, I am usually pooped after work and have no desire whatsoever to do laundry, clean, or anything of the kind. I was okay when it would still be sunny outside when I got off work, but now that it's darker sooner, all my body wants to do is rest when I'm off for the night. I won't be a stay at home wife for some time though, so I have personally decided that my new years resolution is to be better at tending to the general needs of my sweetheart. I'm no super wife like most women I know, so I can't be working on scrapbooks in one room while having a roast in the oven, and a load of laundry going, and playing a game with the family... but I'll get there! Step by step I'll do the best I can in this game I call, *"Forget yourself and serve your man". We'll see how it goes! :) Help!

*He did NOT put me up to this, nor does he make it so I'm the only one doing the cleaning and such, actually it's quite the opposite. He serves me SO well, and it's time I do my part to the fullest and serve him unfailingly. Here's to feeling good about serving!!!

A few pictures to start...

This is the living room of our apartment, we never did put up the rest of the pictures before moving out. There really wasn't place on the walls to hang them up, and with both of us working, there just never was time to put them up either....it took us 2 and 1/2 months to get the picture up of the Savior.

This is just the dining area of the house. Somehow I haven't taken pictures of the whole house yet, I thought I did...but again we've been so busy. We aren't even completely unpacked yet and we've been in for about a month. We are LOVING our house, and are so excited for Jamison's parents to come and stay the night with us on Saturday. Which reminds me, gotta get those boxes out of the guest room to fit the bed frame for the guest bed. We have a lot to do this weekend! eck!
Thanksgiving in St. George was spent at Jamison's uncle's place. I met some cousins and aunts/uncles that we didn't see at the wedding, and we had fun with the family. :) That was Thursday, the rest of the weekend was spent packing and moving from the apartment to the house ---all the big things anyway ---.
And as always, Thanksgiving can not exist without nap time! :D (This is Kent, Jamison's stepdad).
And we ended out our stay in Utah with a visit to meet Jamison's grandfather on his mom's side. And he is a crack up! He had us laughing so hard. In this picture he was putting hot sauce on his ice cream. We all didn't believe that he eats it on his ice cream, but he did it, AND ate it...and somehow seemed to enjoy it! Whatever floats the boat! :) It was a fun and exciting weekend.
Now we're all moved into the house, and we're slowly putting everything in it's place. It's so weird to actually have a place for everything, and on top of that, to be the one to decide where I want everything to be.....it's weird. But fun! And we'll hopefully have everything unpacked by the time Jamison's parents come Saturday afternoon. Crossing fingers! I'd better get off here.... wish me luck! :)

I've got that feeling...

You feel it? I LOVE this feeling. The feeling of love everywhere...the feeling that no one could make me unhappy today no matter what they tried to do. The feeling of peace, happiness, hope.

yeah....I am loving it. Off of work at 2pm today. Then it's off to pack, finish a gift for our niece, make a quick trip to Joann's for some Christmas decorations, and then it's off to St. George for a few days. Thanksgiving weekend, here. I. come. :)

Coconuts.

This weekend was lovely!

With Jamison in school we oftentimes go our separate ways in the morning to work, and then after he goes to school, and we don't see each other until 10:30ish at night. By that time we are both soooo done that we get home and go straight to sleep.

Well, Friday I had decided that it was time to take a "time for us" date. So, after we both got off of work and he got some studying done (aka: nap) we went out to the Suncoast Buffet...yum! It was so stinking good. And we were both super hungry, so it was so wonderful.

After we took a skip and a hop on over to buy tickets to watch the {Legend of the Guardians} in 3D(as it was opening night) and we had found out that we were the very first to buy the tickets for the movie-which we found to be SO weird, but hey! A whole movie theater to ourselves...I wasn't going to complain! It has happened once before when we saw "How to Train Your Dragon".

I really didn't like a lot of the messages in the movie, but the scenery was beautiful and captivating. Not really one that I would be super anxious to see again though. While we were waiting for the time to get closer Jamison said, "I want to show you something!" So he led me over to the escalators and we then boarded the elevator, and made our way to the rooftop. We then spent a few precious moments looking out over Las Vegas at the shimmering lights. It was breathtaking.

We spent a moment there just collecting our thoughts and being at peace, and then made our way back down to watch the movie that Jamison had been waiting anxiously for for a while.

We made our way home after-what we felt was-a much needed break from work/school/and everyday worries. What a wonderful day!

Saturday:

We had made plans to go to the temple, set up our tv, set up the vacuum we recently purchased, and hang up all our pictures that are STILL leaning up against the wall waiting to be hung. That would be a long day in itself, and to top it off Jamison had plans to study long and hard for an exam on Tuesday. FUN!

Well......instead!!!!!!!!! We woke up to a phone call from Jamison's mom asking us to meet her and Kent-her husband-at Hallie's soccer game (Hallie is Jamison's niece). Of course we were excited to go! But I couldn't help but think: "Well, maybe next week we'll get the pictures hung!" haha. No chance of that now. So we went and had a great time with his parents, and brother Ben and his family. We spent quite a number of hours with them touring their new home, and having fun. Then before parting ways, we had lunch with Jamison's mom and Kent at Capriotti's. That was fun too...I miss not seeing them all the time! So it was nice to catch up for a few hours. We spent a lot longer than we should have, so we went straight home and Jamison studied for hours! Nothing else was done-too bad-we were really looking forward to our Saturday temple attendance. Hopefully sometime this week we'll make it, or Saturday sometime around General Conference. *Crossing fingers!*

And yesterday was such a wonderful Sunday, as are all Sundays when Primary kids are involved! It can be very tiring, and very stressful...but that's where I LOVE to be. And I'm so grateful for the calling. :) Our goal for the day was to really focus and keep the sabbath holy, so we watched church videos when coming home, etc. Throughout every day I've got some weird song stuck in my head...and Sunday was NO different...all day I sang (with Jamison's help of course) , "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts...." Sounds weird and lame, but it's actually quite fun and amusing to try your hardest to sing poorly, and find that you really didn't need to try that hard at all!

FUN FUN weekend! I can't wait til General Conference this weekend! YAY! :)
